Movie Review

If you're in the mood to laugh yourself silly, Wallace &Gromit's "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" is a jolly good show for thewhole family. It's about a dimwitted inventor named Wallace and his sidekickdog, Gromit, coming up with a solution to the flurry of rabbitsdestroying the community's gardens. If something isn'tdone quickly, the townspeople will have nothing to show for atthe local Giant Competition. As a quick fix, Wallace and Gromit develop the Bun-Vac 6000, acontraption that enables them to remove rabbits via remotecontrol as they patrol the neighborhood in their van. Whatinitially seems like a good idea backfires when Wallace hooksthe Bun-Vac up
to his latest invention, the Mind-O-Matic, hopingto brainwash the rabbits into not wanting to eat vegetables atall. The experiment results in a giant "were-rabbit" -- seen inclassic horror movie-style only as a shadow and footprints atfirst -- starts ravaging the town's gardens, turning the localsinto a rowdy mob.
What's fun about "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" is that its nutty,offbeat humor is innocent and good-natured. Adults willunderstand it on a deeper level than children. For instance, theWere Rabbit--half-man, half-hare--piggybacks off King Kong andold werewolf movies, but children will just see it as wacky andfun. Bottom line: "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" is a "doolally" moviethat is absolutely fabulous. Go on, and give it a whirl. Youwon't be disappointed!
